1st Diaper Cake

Knowing I was experiementing with making diaper cakes, my sweet friend, Laura, asked me if I would make one for a small baby shower. I obsessed over it knowing she would be ok with anything. It's far from perfect, but kinda fun to welcome a little boy into the world.

This 2-tier diaper cake is made with pampers swaddlers in newborn size. I used baby washcloths (Thanks Laura for finding blue last minute) for the lollipops and curling ribbon to add some zip.  There is 2 layers of ribbon.
There is a lot you can do with the traditional diaper cake: including how many tiers, color themes, tops, etc. Some diaper cakes have lots of accessories along the sides (not my favorite style) or surprise baby items stuffed in the middle. It can be kept simple or made extravagant; whatever fits the mom-to-be and situation best. The possibilities are endless. Thankful to Hobby Lobby for their 50% off ribbon sales and walgreens for stacking manufacture and walgreens coupons for some good deals on diapers. :)
