I'm going to put some of my new creations in the local school's vendor fair. It's been fun to get back into the diaper cakes! As always, the cakes can be modified to fit what's best for the giftee. My special this month is 20% off already made cakes and 10% off custom made cakes. If you are interested in ordering one, send an email to jennie@cason.us and I'll email a form that will help us figure out the perfect cake!
Thanks for checking in! Enjoy the pictures.

Expanding CasonCreations
I've been thinking about doing some different projects and came across a couple that interest me a great deal. My little girl has been into dress-up for awhile and her hair is finally long enough to put pretty things in. So I'm experimenting with some hair accessories and made my first no-sew tutu this morning. I still love making diaper cakes so I'm happy to do more of those.
Unfortunately, you can't see the hair band in the back, but it's super cute that matches the tutu. Love the pirate tattoo as she's posing in her new tutu. Still have lots to learn with this one, but it's so much fun for the lil ballerinas. I see lots of tutus as birthday presents in the near future. Can't wait for the next tulle sale at Hobby Lobby!

Diaper cakes
A friend is having a yard sale this weekend so I have been busy trying to make gender neutral cakes in case there might be some interest. I know most people are looking for a good deal, not baby gifts, but you never know unless you try. So here's a sample of some of my recent cakes that will hopefully find homes soon :)
I also had the opportunity to go shopping all by myself on Sunday so I found some super cute items on sale that needed to immediately be put together with some diapers. I think the diapers and blankets, loveys, and other items are very happy they got to be put into a set.

Something new
I've had several people talk about ways to branch out from the diaper cake theme. It's a lot of fun to work on new creations, but as with anything new there is an initial investment. Fortunately with this endeavor, anything I don't sell, I can give as gifts or use myself. Glad I didn't stick with my original idea of a cupcake business, I'd be eating way too many cupcakes. :) This is lots less messier, more useful and zero calories!
So here goes with the new stuff... Hope you like. As always, I'm open to new ideas and trying out other creations.
My first towel cake (I know the green background is kinda distracting; sorry). I had a $5 gift card to Kohls so I ran in there to get this set. My next stop was the beloved Hobby Lobby for the ribbon and flowers. I couldn't pass up the sweet frame. From what I've seen, these are typically used as centerpieces at a bridal shower (like on the gift table). I love the idea of these monogrammed. We got monogrammed towels for our wedding and they have come in handy several times when we've had to take our own towels somewhere; we know they are ours!
This one is more like a gift basket. So many themes; spa, thank you, teacher appreciation, thinking of you. I'm looking forward to making them in kid-friendly themes; like princess, cars, dinosaurs, etc. Really you can add as much or as little to the top, wrap a cute ribbon & viola! Instant cute & functional gift! It's kinda like a gift bag full of stuff, but in a nicer presentation.
"Not-so Yummy, But oh so Sweet!" These lil goodies are just a washcloth wrapped around 3 diapers, wrapped around a sock all tied with a ribbon and bow X 4 and put in a pastry box. Something that would be super easy to stick in the mail or nice to display at the cake table at a shower.
"Hat Full 'O Fun" This doesn't have a diaper in it, but would probably be a nice addition on the top of a tiered- cake. I think it's a nice gift by itself though. Inside the baby hat is shampoo and lotion and a Jennie-original flower creations (on the spoon is not my idea though). It is wrapped in a headband. I have some flower clips ordered so excited to see what that will look like.
So here goes with the new stuff... Hope you like. As always, I'm open to new ideas and trying out other creations.
Well, now that my husband's office resembles what it might look like if Hobby Lobby and Babies R Us combined, I'm ready to find some homes for these creations. Contact me to take one that's already made or to make a brand spankin' new one. Thanks for checking out my new stuff!

More to love...
Sometimes the best gifts to give are the ones that you don't have to give, you just do because you care about another person. This gift was given to a special friend going through some of those trials in life that are no fun. So in honor of her and with the help of some other friends, we created the "Pick-me up" pickup truck. This bad-boy was in no way easy to create and then took a spill down the stairs the evening before giving it to her. Grrrrr. Included were almost 70 diapers, baby food jars, washcloths, socks, candy(rocks), forks/spoons (shovels and pitchforks), jar of nutella, index box w/ coupons (have I mentioned I LOVE coupons!), a couple of receiving blankets, and some giftcards. Most important, she loved it and made her feel special, it's just a bonus that she gets to use all the stuff.
I'm working on making some towel cakes, like for wedding showers or thank-you gifts. There are so many practical reasons to give a fun gift like these. Coming up soon is also a toddler birthday gift and Potty-training encouragement cake (oh, please work on my 2yr old!)
I'd love to find some good deals for more diaper cakes so send me a message if you'd like one of these creations for yourself. For about the cost of a normal priced box of diapers, I can create a gift that is sure to please!

More time= more projects
If I had to choose between cleaning my house during nap time and creating a fun diaper cake, the diaper cake wins every time. Ahhh, I'm not sure my husband agrees with that decision, but such is life. Here are a few projects I've been working on; some are still in the process.
Kitty in pink. This version is a bit smaller than some I've made. I love how you can make these to fit anyone, but adding personal touches, like their chosen colors, preferred bottles, monogramming bibs, hair accessories etc, or they can be kept super simple (and inexpensive)
Sweet Pea. This is one of those projects that is a work in progress. I like using socks (or hand mittens) to cover the diapers to make the peas. The butterfly needs some intervention and that's supposed to be a rose on top :) I think it can be super cute when I figure it out.
Well, my daughter is now up and cleaning her room is next on the agenda. Until next naptime; bye for now.

And they keep coming...
I wanted to post a few more "creations" that are sitting up on their new shelf, waiting for a home :) I'm working on a few new ideas so hopefully they will come together in the next few weeks. Right now I'm totally loving "girly, girl" gifts; especially with the headgear. My baby girl had so little hair so we tried and tried to put things on her head to keep people from thinking she was a boy. There is so many more options now, even a few years later. I'm really trying hard to make the gifts to be purposeful and not just add "stuff" to them. It's fun coming up with my own ideas, like play keys added to the trikes and loveys as the blankets on the bassinets. The more I play, the more fun it is. Feel free to contact me if you see a creation you like or have an idea of your own that you'd like to see come to life.
This one I'm planning to put in a cake box and mail to a friend. The headband and flower clip are pre-made from Hobby Lobby (you can find me in there every Sat ), but I'm trying to figure out how to make them myself to cut down on some of the cost. There might even be a surprise found inside :)
The one is a little different, instead of a lovey, the covering is a onesie and cute monkey is handing out on top. It needs something at the back so I'm scouting the stores to find the perfect accessory for the lil guy.
Did I mention how much I'm loving these bassinets?? The back needs a different top to make it look tighter, but otherwise, it's a nice gift for a baby girl. I've seen several of these with wheels to make into a carriage. I'm sure it wouldn't be much harder, just more diapers, etc. So many options...
This trike is becoming one of my favorites. I keep adding stuff and changing things to give it different looks. I love the puppy with bows for a sweet look.

Some new/ some revised cakes
I've been having so much fun with new creations and revising some previous creations that needed some work. I'm so excited to have some interest in baby girl's cakes so I have gone a little overboard in new ribbons and pink items.
LOVE the headband Miss Bear is sportin'! I had to improvise on the tutu, so it doesn't look as awesome as I expected, but still a cute idea.
This is a mini-bassinet and much improved over my previous models! I think a monogrammed lovey would be perfect for a special gift.
I discovered these on-line and think they are adorable. Can't wait to top some cakes with these fun candy additions or throw in a bowl for a table decoration :)

Just for fun
I have several I've made from ideas I've seen or thought of using something I already have. Some are very basic with just ribbon and maybe a small accessory and some more elaborate with lots of goodies. Anything can be modified to fit the giftee.
The bassinet is super sweet and so many goodies for the baby. They are a wee bit complicated to make but worth the effort!
Ahhh, Pooh. How cute are you??
Simple, yet fun. This top has a onesie "flower blooming". So much cuter than giving the mommy-to-be a "bag of diapers"
This one is sweet and easy too. Just a lovey hugging the cake. A suprise would be easy to hide inside.
I love these sweet mini-cakes. How cute to have on tables at a baby-shower for centerpieces! So much can be done with these beauties. Toppers are easy to make with washcloths, socks, onesies, etc. Be creative.
Love this! Wish I had a baby girl on the way to give it to.

Let me know if you see something you want. I would love to find homes for my creations (and so would my husband since they are now taking up his office).
Lovin' the trikes
A friend wanted to know how to make a diaper cake for a co-worker so I offered to make if for her. She chose a trike for a boy so here's what we ended up with.
I found some clearance Nuk's and thought it looked cute as a "dog tag" on this biker pup. I'm having too much fun with these. I got some more blankets with a coupon and made a bike with a zoo animal theme. I really like the onesie on the giraffe, but think a smaller size would be much better.

I was able to get the Huggies blue jean diapers online as an awesome deal and think they look good for the tires.

Baby Shower x 3
Our community group has 3 baby boys on the way. I had lots of fun making a different diaper cake for each of the families. They were definitely a hit at our group baby shower. We also had lots of fun watching the men drink juice from the baby bottles and having everyone guess at the baby food. Lots to celebrate and be thankful for!
For one baby, I made a traditional 3 tier diaper cake, but added the blanket and burp cloths for a sophisticated look. Little baby socks in rosettes and topped with a cute puppy holding a onesie. I really like how this one turned out. I've seen some using hooded towels and bibs too that look nice. I need to keep better track of how many diapers it takes for each of the cakes but haven't done a great job yet. I think this one was a little less than 100 size 1.
This bassinet is super cute, but a little more challenging to put together. I used 2 receiving blankets and topped with a lovey and pacifier. I would have loved to get the lovey embroidered with the little guys name, but I ran out of time. I had to make do with his initials on the doggie. This one can be done with fewer diapers, a little less than 50, but still has lots of useful items for the mommy-to-be.
I absolutely adore the bicycles and tricylces. They are so sweet put together. It takes probably around 30 diapers for the bike and 46 diapers for the trike, depending on the size. A bottle is used for the headlight and this needs 2 receiving blankets, 2 bibs and baby socks, link & washcloth. Their theme is sports safari so I added his initials to a football like license plate. Loved that I got this big Ty giraffe from Hobby Lobby with a nice coupon, making this just the perfect gift.
